Business outreach privacy notice

Version 1.1: published 22 July 2026, updated 23 July 2026. This notice explains how we handle information about companies we contact directly. If you received an email from us and want to know where we got your details, this page is the answer.

Who we are

The data controller is Branding Marketing UK Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 13859038, registered office Unit 9 Churchill Court, 58 Station Road, North Harrow, HA2 7SA. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under reference ZB317484. We trade as Terence Meghani.

Where we got your details

We did not buy a list. Company details come from the Companies House public register, using its advanced search. Where a company has a website, we look for a business contact address published on that company’s own site. We also use Hunter.io, a business email lookup service, to find a published business address for a company domain.

Where a company has no findable website, we may look up the name of a current director from the Companies House officers register. That is used only so that a person has someone to ask for if they telephone the company. It is never used to address marketing email.

What we hold

Company name, company number, registered address, locality and business type, from the public register
A business email address and, where published, a business telephone number
Where applicable, a director’s name as above
A record of what we sent, when, and whether it was delivered, bounced or replied to
Where we built a sample web page for a company and sent it a link, a count of how many times that page was opened

We do not track whether our emails are opened, and we do not use tracking pixels.

Why we contact you, and our lawful basis

We contact businesses to introduce web design and marketing services we think may be useful to them. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR: our interest in finding customers for our business.

In reaching that view we took the following into account. We contact companies rather than individuals, at business addresses, about services relevant to the business’s own trade. We use information the company has itself put into the public domain: on the public register, or published on its own website. We send a small number of messages, we make it easy to stop them, and we stop immediately when asked. We judge the impact on any individual to be low, and that a business would reasonably expect to receive occasional approaches of this kind at a published business address. We deliberately exclude personal webmail addresses (for example gmail.com or outlook.com) from our mailings, because those belong to an individual rather than to the company.

We have recorded this assessment in writing and will review it if what we do changes.

Who else sees it

Resend, sends our email
Hunter.io, business email lookup, acting as our processor
Hostinger: hosts our systems in the United Kingdom, and provides the mailbox we send some notifications through
Anthropic: provides the AI service we use to analyse and summarise our own work. Anthropic acts as our processor and, under its commercial terms, does not train its models on our content
OpenRouter: routes some of that summarising work to third-party AI model providers on our behalf, acting as our processor. The specific model provider we use may change from time to time

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. Where a provider is outside the UK we rely on the appropriate safeguards permitted by UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

We keep prospect information for 12 months from our last contact with the company, after which it is deleted automatically. Information about a company that becomes a client is kept for six years, as our business records.

If you ask us to stop contacting you, we keep a minimal record of your email address on a suppression list indefinitely. We do that specifically so we do not contact you again by mistake if your company later reappears on the public register. That record is used for nothing else.

Your right to object

You can tell us to stop at any time, and we will. You do not have to give a reason, and we cannot refuse. Use the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or email hello@terencemeghani.com. We will action it without delay and add your address to our suppression list.

Your other rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, and to ask us to restrict how we use it. Email hello@terencemeghani.com and we will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or by calling 0303 123 1113.
